JEA Non-Road Electrotechnology Program

JEA offers the prescriptive financial incentives for select electrotechnologies. Custom incentives are available upon request for retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, and alternative technologies. Valid JEA customers who purchase a qualified electric technology between September 2016 and August 2018 may apply for rebates, which include the following:

Technology Type Description JEA Incentive
Forklifts A small vehicle with two power-operated prongs at the front that can be slid under heavy loads and then raised for moving and stacking materials in warehouses, shipping depots, distribution centers, etc. $300.00
Aircraft Tractors / Pushbacks Pushback tugs are mainly used to push an aircraft away from the gate when it is ready to leave. $400.00
Baggage / Tow Tractors Airport tow tractors are used to move any equipment that cannot move itself. This includes: bag carts, mobile air conditioning units, air starters, lavatory carts, and other equipment. $250.00
Belt Loaders Belt loaders are vehicles with movable belts for unloading and loading of baggage and cargo of aircraft. $100.00
GPUs A GPU is a vehicle capable of supplying power to aircraft parked on the ground. GPUs may also be built into the jetway, making it easier to supply electrical power to aircraft while parked at the gate. $600.00
Electric-standby Truck Refrigeration Units (e-TRUs) A tractor trailer that is parked and plugged into the utility grid while perishable items are unloaded/loaded. $200.00
Heavy-Duty Truck Stop Electrification (H-D TSE) TSE gives heavy-duty vehicles (large commercial trucks, etc.) the ability to shut off their engines to reduce idling emissions, and allows the truck to perform adequate heating, cooling, electricity, and communications functions. $200.00
Outdoor Cranes Includes Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes (RTG cranes), Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMG cranes), Wide Span Cranes, and Shore-Side Port Cranes. JEA Incentives for electric cranes will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and awarded based on the capacity of the crane. $15,000 - $75,000
Golf Carts A golf cart is a small vehicle designed originally to carry two golfers and their golf clubs around a golf course with less effort than walking. Golf carts also serve as a means for transportation in active adult communities and are sometimes referred to as Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs). $50.00
Welders Welders are used to fuse materials together. Electric arc welders use electricity to create enough heat to melt metal and when the melted metals cool they bind. $500
